Therapy can be helpful to anyone who is interested in growth and change in their life and their relationships. A “diagnosis” is not a pre-requisite for someone to decide to see a therapist. When done effectively, therapy is a time and place for an individual to be in a non-judgmental atmosphere, with a trained professional who will help them to address the issues that are important to that individual in a timely and constructive manner. A good therapist is well trained and often follows a specific theory but also has a “tool box” of skills so that therapy can be individually tailored to the patient. I uniquely tailor a therapeutic program based on the needs and desires of each individual patient.
Therapy is not only about working on “problem” areas in your life, but also about making your life more satisfying and fulfilling. It is about allowing yourself to have a different perspective, to be kind to yourself, to explore avenues that you might not have otherwise considered and to feel better about yourself, your life and your relationships.
